Hi, I rode from BeiJing to Amsterdam last year. Someday I have to ride from BeiJing or XiAn to Kathmandu. I heard that you need to be on a tour to travel through Tibet?
This is true, unless you sneak in illegally. I got busted after 3 weeks of attempting to enter Xinjiang on the NW border. Oooops. Police escort for 3 days back to Xining.
